Terms and Conditions
The booking terms for private tours and Scenic Transfers with Paths of the Past.
Last updated: 20 October 2026
These terms apply to every tour and Scenic Transfer booked with Paths of the Past Limited, a company registered in Scotland (SC890677). Please read them before you book. Paths of the Past Limited, Unit 83, STEP, Players Road, Stirling FK7 7RP. Email help@pathsofthepast.co.uk or call +44 7546 832290.
1. Your booking
Every tour is private and planned for your group. A booking is confirmed once we’ve agreed the itinerary, dates and price, we’ve confirmed availability, and we’ve received your deposit or full payment. We may decline or suggest changes to a request we can’t accommodate.
2. Deposits and payment
A 20% deposit secures your date. The balance is due before your tour starts. Please don’t make a payment until we’ve confirmed your tour details. Payments are processed by our booking provider, Bókun, and its payment partners.
3. If you cancel
Please cancel in writing, by email. If you cancel 14 days or more before your tour starts, you’ll receive a full refund, including your deposit. If you cancel less than 14 days before, the deposit is non-refundable; any further payments may be refunded at our discretion.
4. If we cancel
If we have to cancel because of something outside our control, such as unsafe weather, illness or a vehicle problem, we’ll offer you another date or a full refund of what you’ve paid us. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us directly.
5. Changes
If you’d like to change your dates or itinerary, we’ll do our best to help, subject to availability. Changes may affect the price.
6. Your part
Please give us accurate details, be ready at your pick-up time, and dress for Scottish weather. Let us know in advance about any mobility, medical or other needs so the day can be planned around them.
7. Weather
Tours go ahead in most weather. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll suggest a different route, a different day or a refund.
8. Liability
We take reasonable care and skill in providing every tour. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own belongings. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Third-party services
Entry tickets, boat trips, accommodation and other services booked with third parties are subject to those providers’ own terms.
10. Privacy
We use your information only to arrange and provide your tour. See our Privacy Policy.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction.
